WEST BANDUNG (April 6, 2024) - Flood and landslide victims in Cipongkor District, West Bandung Regency, are now gradually recovering. The assistance provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs is very meaningful for the recovery and improvement of the community's social conditions.
The disaster victims, until Saturday (6/4) are still working together to repair damaged infrastructure, roads and houses. In addition, the mud that was still scattered around was tried to be cleaned with the available equipment.
Floods and landslides hit two villages in Cipongkor Subdistrict, West Bandung Regency on Sunday (3/24). The disaster resulted in around 30 damaged houses, 244 people affected, and 8 people found dead.
A day after the disaster, Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini came to the disaster site and provided various assistance. The Minister also motivated the disaster victims to be patient in facing the condition. In addition, the Ministry of Social Affairs also built emergency tents and public kitchens.
On that occasion, the Ministry of Social Affairs through Sentra Wyata Guna Bandung handed over ATENSI assistance at the Sirnagalih Village Office and Pusaka Baru Islamic Boarding School led by KH Muhammad Toha Sya'roni which was affected by flash floods in Sirnagalih Village, Cipongkor. Assistance to disaster victims was given worth Rp94,304,000, in the form of fulfilling basic needs and nutrition such as rice, cooking oil, sweet soy sauce, sardines, powdered milk, and eucalyptus oil.
“The various assistance aims to ease the burden on disaster victims or beneficiary families,” said the Head of Administration Subdivision of Sentra Wyata Guna Iis Lisnawati.
The administrator of Pondok Pusaka Baru, Ustad Umar Zainal Abidin, said that he was very happy with the distribution of social assistance provided from the Ministry of Social Affairs through Sentra Wyata Guna for the affected victims.
“This assistance is a form of state concern for its citizens who are affected. Thank you to Mrs. Risma, Minister of Social Affairs, for helping and paying attention to residents and students who are victims of natural disasters,” said Ustadz Umar Zainal Abidin.
