BEKASI (September 24, 2019) - Law No. 35 of 2014 concerning child protection has mandated that the central government, regional governments and other state institutions have the obligation and responsibility to provide protection to children who need special protection.

In this case the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Directorate of Child Social Rehabilitation with UNICEF and Social and Politics Science Faculty of the Muhammadiyah University Jakarta (UMJ), one of which is implementing efforts to protect children by holding a discussion module on the strengthening of children's capabilities.


In his opening address the Director General of Social Rehabilitation Edi Suharto said that the module that was later produced in this activity had an Executive Summary or some kind of infographic that made users interested in understanding it and did not feel bored reading it. Edi also mentioned that with this module a child can know what their rights are, including if a child faces violence.


Furthermore Edi also mentioned that the target of this module is the Social Workers Bhakti Unit (Sakti Peksos) which is expected to later have a structured activity when accompanying children and their families, because the best care of children is in the family so this module is expected to not only strengthen the capabilities of children but strengthen parenting.


This activity was carried out for three days from September 24 to September 26 at Harris Hotel & Conventions Bekasi, which was attended by 48 participants, consisting of various elements including the Ministry of Social Affairs, UNICEF, the Technical Assistance Team, Practitioners and University Students of Muhammadiyah University Jakarta (UMJ).
