JAKARTA (October 15th, 2019) - "Melati” Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Deaf and Speech Disabilities (BRSPDSRW) Jakarta held the distribution of Hearing Aids (ABD) in "Melati" BRSPDSRW Jakarta hall to 60 people with Deaf Sensory Disabilities (PDSRW) Jakarta from various regions in DKI Jakarta.

The activity was attended by representatives from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Social Service Agency, Central Jakarta Social Service Agency, North Jakarta, East Jakarta, South Jakarta and West Jakarta. Hearing Aids (ABD) become a major requirement in an effort to reduce communication barriers faced by PDSRW. This tool helps someone who has a hearing disorders by amplifying or enlarging the sound so that it helps users to be able to hear more clearly.

The Head of  "Melati" BRSPDSRW Jakarta, Pujiyanto, in his remarks appealed to the ABD that had been obtained later to be properly guarded and maintained. "The use of ABD must still be maximized in its function by conducting speech therapy to PDSRW so that their cognitive, emotional and social interactions continue to function as they should." The role of parents is important in supporting the optimization of the use of ABD for PDSRW children, by teaching their children to recognize sounds and facilitate children to be able to participate in speech therapy so that a better future for them can be realized.

ABD distribution activities carried out through a series of stages in accordance with service procedures, namely the stages of checking the level of hearing, otoscopy, fitting up to education and after-care socialization for PDSRW families. In today's activity, PT. ABDI was asked again to be a competent counterpart in providing all the facilities needed according to the PDSRW standards and needs.
