JAMBI (August 29th, 2024) - Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) in collaboration with Tata Rupa Team held design, photography, and painting training at the Alyatama Center in Jambi. This activity was a follow-up to the meeting between the Minister of Social Affairs and the children at the Alyatama Center in Jambi that took place last week on Wednesday, August 21st, 2024.

The training held over two days (August 29th – 30th) was attended by 30 participants, consisting of students with hearing and speech disabilities and the children of residential beneficiaries. During the event, participants have opportunities to learn various art and design skills that could enhance their creativity. Starting from photography techniques using a smartphone camera, and Canva applications, to painting on canvas.

The Head of the Alyatama Center in Jambi, Hendra Permana, in his speech, invited participants and staff to take part in the training. "I am pleased that this training is taking place. Please follow along. Those who are accompanying, don't just watch, join in the learning too. Share your knowledge, because our beneficiaries won’t stay the same, there will be something new later," Hendra stated as he opened the event.

During the session, the participants appeared enthusiastic, asking questions and trying out various practices. This has garnered praise from one of the photography instructors, Ilham Khairuddin. "This is the first time I teach persons with hearing and speech disabilities. It turns out they are quite enthusiastic. They follow the material well. I even saw that some of the photography results were good, even though they were taken with a phone," Ilham expressed.

Through this training, it is hoped that the children at the Alyatama Center in Jambi can acquire new skills that will be beneficial for their future, while also fostering a sense of confidence in expressing themselves through art and design.
