BEKASI REGENCY (10 February 2024) – Two adorable children, aged 3 years and 8 months, had to share in the suffering. Their mother, Mega Suryani Dewi (24), was killed by their father, Nando (25), leaving the two adorable children to be reared by their maternal grandmother.

The Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA), through the Pangudi Luhur Integrated Center (STPL) in Bekasi, responded to the incident that occurred in West Cikarang, Bekasi Regency. STPL came and assisted Neng Linda (52), a grandmother who thereafter took care of the two adorable children.

MoSA took and accompanied the two children and their grandmother for a medical examination. A psychiatric assessment revealed that the eldest child had autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and a lack of stimuli. "He has to take integration and speech therapy classes," stated the doctor and psychiatrist who treated the condition of the victim's first child.

The second child, who is 8 months old, is physically healthy, but her weight and height remain below normal; therefore, she should ingest enough protein, milk, and fat.

Neng Linda then received psychosocial intervention aid in the form of education on parenting techniques for her two grandkids. Aside from that, MoSA assists with more extensive follow-up treatment for the first child, since he must carry out therapy and receive stimulus.

MoSA also offered these two children ATENSI assistance, which included nourishment, personal hygiene items, toys, health screenings, and psychiatrists. Neng Linda was also assisted in the form of vegetable selling equipment, as well as paying Social Security Body for Health (BPJS Kesehatan) arrears and becoming a Premium Assistance Recipient of National Health Insurance (PBI-JK). MoSA will remain present to ensure continuity for the victim’s family, which has been left behind.
