JAKARTA (October 13, 2019) - The Ministry of Social Affairs attended the peak of the National Cultural Week with Digdaya Nusantara Parade, which began from the main stage and ended at the Education and Culture Office.

Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) Muhadjir Effendy closed the 2019 National Cultural Week (PKN) event on Sunday (10/13) at Istora Senayan.

Muhadjir promised to hold this event every year. "Hopefully this is the beginning of the revival of our national culture. God willing, we will hold it annually, every year," Muhadjir said.

I hope, especially the regional leaders, mayors, regents, after the activities at the national level will be followed by PKN performances at their respective regional levels. "From what has been delivered at the respective regional level, we will choose and the best we will present at the PKN next year," he said.

The parade was attended by 2,953 participants from 26 provinces including West Sumatra, North Sumatra, Bali, DKI Jakarta, Aceh, West Nusa Tenggara, Riau, South Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, Jambi, Bali, Central Sulawesi, Banten, West Kalimantan, West Sulawesi, Java West, Central Java, Riau Islands, North Kalimantan, East Nusa Tenggara, East Java, Maluku and others.

The Ministry of Social Affairs also enlivened the implementation of this year's PKN which took place on October 7-13 through the performances of dance, music and singing from the beneficiaries of four UPT Persons with Disabilities in the Jabodetabek region namely "Cibinong" Vocational Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Disabilities (BBRVPD) Bogor, "Ciung Wanara" Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Intellectual Disabilities (BRSPDI) Bogor, "Tan Miyat" Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Blind Sensory Disabilities (BRSPDSN) Bekasi, "Melati" Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Deaf and Speech Disabilities (BRSPDSRW) Bambu Apus Jakarta.
