JAKARTA (7 November 2019) - As many as 150 high school students in Jakarta participated in the Historical Tour to visit the Jakarta Maritime Museum and the Indonesian Maritime Museum.

Knowing and understanding Indonesia's long history is very important for Indonesia's young generation. The participants were invited to tour the Jakarta Maritime Museum which is also the zero point of Batavia, besides that they also visited the Indonesian Maritime Museum where there are collections related to the ports in Indonesia.

The Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs Hartono Laras together with Echelon 1 officials in the scope of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs and the General Chairperson of 2019 Heroes' Day opened and released the Historical Tour participants in the Field Office of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs. Hartono also said that the younger generation is expected to increase their knowledge and insight into the history of the nation's struggle, so that they can get to know and love the country more and appreciate the services of the struggle of heroes.

"The commemoration of Heroes' Day 2019 can be used as a momentum that inspires all of us to implement the spirit and heroic values and become Heroes of the Present," said Hartono.

In addition, this time the Historical Tourism activity invited young Indonesian runners Emilia Nova and Lalu Muhammad Zohri. They are here to provide motivation and enthusiasm for the youth so that they can develop their potential, always work so that they can make the Indonesian nation proud, not only on the national level, but also internationally.

The Indonesian National Hero Family Association (IKPNI) participated by presenting the son of Dr. Saharjo, Saharto Saharjo and the grandson of the Commander General Soedirman, Danang Priambodo, who also participated in this activity until it was finished. They really motivate students to become heroes of the present even though they have to face bigger challenges due to the industrial revolution 4.0. For this reason, the nation's future youth must be able to compete creatively without forgetting heroic values and must always remember and appreciate the spirit of the fighters of the Indonesian nation.
