EAST ACEH (MARCH 11, 2023) - The Ministry of Social Affairs held a Community Empowerment training for the Business of Making Stoves for 15 residents of Seuneubok Village, East Aceh Regency.

The stove is a biomass gasification stove that is fuelled by environmentally friendly biomass from nature that is economical and renewable such as dried palm fruit, castor fruit, coconut shells, nitas as an alternative to the use of oil stoves and gas cylinders.

The training, which was held at the East Aceh Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM), was the direction of Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini to escort residents to realize economic independence.

The training, which took place from March 7 to March 13, 2023, was organized by the Directorate of Social Protection for Victims of Social and Non-Natural Disasters (PSKBS-NA) in collaboration with the Padang Social Welfare Education and Training Center (BBPPKS) as the Ministry of Social Affairs' Technical Implementation Unit.

"In accordance with the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs, this training was carried out with the aim of developing community income, especially those of productive age," said PSKBS-NA Director Mira Riyati.

The development of biomass gasification stoves is suitable for Aceh's natural potential. In the land of the Mecca Porch, it is fertile land for palm trees.

The use of people's stoves using palm oil is considered more efficient than using gas and oil, so that household expenses can be reduced.

"With the knowledge of training and tools provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs as capital, participants must be able to continue the production of stoves to sell to villages. In fact, it is hoped that Seuneubok Village can be known as a village of stove producers," she continued.

For 7 days, participants will receive training materials in the form of an introduction to the tools and materials needed to make folk stoves.

Then, participants will be equipped with the process of making folk stoves, starting from cutting, drilling to bending. Furthermore, participants will be invited to practice how to use the stove and its fuel, namely dry palm oil to product promotion material.

In the activity, cooking demonstration was also shown so that the participants could see directly the comparison between the use of the people's stove and the gas stove, the results of which had the same quality. "This demonstration also shows that the use of fuel in people's stoves is much more economical," said Mira.

The opening of the training on Tuesday (7/3) was attended by PSKBS-NA Director Mira Riyati Kurniasih, Head of East Aceh Social Service Elfiandi and Banyu Lestari Utama Energi as training resource persons.
