BANDUNG (2 July 2024) - The Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA), in collaboration with Tata Rupa Nusantara, has trained the Nusantara Economic Hero for Youth Beneficiaries (PENA Muda) in the Greater Bandung region. The Tata Rupa training took place over four weeks to help participants grow their businesses.
"The training took place four times a week, both online and offline, to improve product quality, including logos, brands, packaging designs, and banners/signs for their stores," explained Julianita Lim from Tata Rupa Nusantara.
Tata Rupa Nusantara did not work alone; they involved young volunteer designers who were eager to help the beneficiaries in the social sector. These young designers came from diverse backgrounds, including visual communication design students, design studios, and freelancers.
Currently, Tata Rupa has partnered with eight universities in Bandung, including Universitas Pasundan, Universitas Telkom, Universitas Teknologi Bandung, Universitas Adirajasa Reswara Sanjaya, Institut Seni Budaya Indonesia, Institut Teknologi Harapan Bangsa Bandung, Institut Teknologi Nasional Bandung, Universitas Kristen Maranatha, and one volunteer community, Bandung Care.
Before working directly with the beneficiaries, these young designers had gone through selection and curation sessions. Currently, 130 Greater Bandung beneficiaries will receive Tata Rupa training over the following four weeks, with the assistance of 74 young designers.
"These young designers are like doctors for the beneficiaries, offering consultations about their products, packaging challenges, and discussing solutions," she added.
Interestingly, the PENA Muda beneficiaries in Bandung have a wide range of business clusters. Many of them already have well-established products and the desire to develop and improve. In addition to the training from Tata Rupa, the Ministry of Social Affairs also provides training on financial literacy and marketing, as well as assists in producing the best designs and branding for the beneficiaries.
