Ministry of Social Affairs Reaches Remote Indigenous Communities in Blora
Blora Regency (9 October 2020) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Directorate of Social Empowerment continues to reach communities affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, including Remote Indigenous Communities (KAT).
The Ministry of Social Affairs distributed 400 Sembako packages through the Social Office PP&PA Blora Regency to four Sedulur Sikep Comunity of Samin Indigenous Community in Blora Regency.
The Ministry of Social Affairs' Dharma Wanita Association (DWP) Advisor, Grace Batubara, symbolically handed over the Ministry of Social's Sembako Aid to five residents in Samin Village, Klopoduwur Village, Banjarejo District, Blora Regency, Thursday (8/10/2010)
"This remote indigenous community is very developed. It’s a happiness to the Ministry of Social Affairs to be able to come and visit the indigenous families here," said Grace.
Grace is also amazed by the people in Samin Village who have implemented health protocols even though they are part of a Remote Indigenous Community.
"Alhamdulillah, I am very happy to hear that not a single citizen has been exposed to COVID-19. The local people here are very disciplined in applying health protocols," he said.
After handing over the aid symbolically, Grace visited the houses of the residents of Samin Village. A number of residents of Samin village lined up in front of the porch wearing all black clothes and barefooted, smiled when Grace greeted them.
One of the aid recipients, Grandma Suparmi (70) even asked for a photo with Grace. He was happy to see the wife of Social Minister Juliari P Batubara.
Suparmi expressed his gratitude for the aid provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Sembako package aid greatly helped her family in the midst of this pandemic.
"Since the corona pandemic, my husband and children did not dare to go out, usually they routinely work in the fields but haven't worked for a long time, so this aid is very helpful," he said.
A similar sentiment was expressed by the spouse Sarjan (50) and Juwarinah (47) when receiving aid from the Ministry of Social Affairs.
As a farm labourer, Sarjan's income was only enough for his daily meals, especially when the outbreak hit.
"Thank you Ministry of Social Affairs for this aid which is very beneficial for our family, I hope the God bless you," he said.
