JAKARTA (November 5, 2019) - A total of 600 elementary and junior high school students in the Jabodetabek region are participating in the Tourism Pilgrimage at the Main Heroes Cemetery (TMPNU) Kalibata, South Jakarta.

This activity is part of a series of 2019 Heroes' Day commemoration organized by the Directorate of Heroism, Pioneering, Solidarity and Social Restoration (K2KRS), Directorate General of Social Empowerment of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

The values of heroism really need to be instilled from an early age in school age children, so that they can understand the meaning of heroism in today's modern era.

The Director General of Social Empowerment of the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Pepen Nazaruddin who opened this activity directly hoped that the future generations of the nation's future should be able to become Heroes of the Present.

"There can be many forms of heroes today, for example being a hero in the family, like helping mothers at home is also a hero today," said Pepen.

The activity with the theme "I am a Hero of the Present" was packaged very interestingly by visiting the Kalibata Main Heroes Cemetery (TMPNU) which consists of several series of activities, namely opening apples, pilgrimages and sowing flowers at the graves of heroes, and quizzes about shared heroic values.
