JAKARTA (23 February 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs, through the Directorate of Social Assistance Fund Resources Management (PSDBS), will coordinate with the Ministry of Finance's Directorate General of State Assets (DJKN) before auctioning the prize items that are still stored in the Ministry's warehouse.

The Ministry of Social Affairs stores goods, including several units of cars, which are unpredictable prizes (HTT) on free lotteries with prizes held by private parties.

There are more than 300 items of gift items that are kept neatly by the Ministry of Social Affairs. Both in the category of four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles, household appliances, precious metals, telecommunications equipment, electronic equipment, and so on.  Among these items were Rolls-Royce cars and Mercedes-Benz cars.

Observing the prize items, Social Minister Tri Rismaharini stated that he would follow the outlined procedure before conducting the auction. "I will coordinate with the Ministry of Finance. They have been auctioned before. But the stipulation is that we have to wait for 6 months before the next auction, "said the Minister of Social Affairs in Jakarta (23/92).

She hopes that there are collectors, artists, and philanthropists buy these gift items. This is because after the goods are auctioned off, the proceeds from the auction can return to the state. She hopes it can help to increase the budget for disaster management.

The Social Minister wants an appraisal to be carried out first. "We need to do an appraisal first," she said. On a different occasion, the Director of PSDBS Hotman said that the Rolls-Royce car belonging to the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs had been auctioned twice in November 2019 and December 2020.

However, she said, there was no bidder, so it was re-auctioned in December 2020. The Rolls-Royce with the 2012 Ghost type has not yet been sold/No Bidder (TAP). "So until now the vehicle is stored at the Ministry of Social Affairs," said Hotman.

Furthermore, Hotman said, to submit an auction, the Ministry of Social Affairs must coordinate with the Ministry of Finance. This is because according to the regulations there must be a gap of six months to re-conduct the auction.

"That’s the regulation. However, the Social Minister wants to coordinate with the DJKN to know if there is a way to shorten the gap of re-auctioning," he said.

Hotman said the Rolls-Royce car was an unpredictable prize (HTT) of a free lottery held by PT Batik Air. Meanwhile, the Mercedes-Benz car is the unpredictable prize (HTT) of the lottery event held by PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI).
