YOGYAKARTA (19 August 2020) - Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P. Batubara visited Special Region of Yogyakarta on Wednesday (19/8). Located at the Regent's Office of Kulon Progo, Minister of Social Affairs handed over grants to 7 families of National Heroes in Yogyakarta Special Region. In fact, there are 18 National Heroes who are buried in Yogyakarta. Up to now, there are 7 heroes families and received compassion from Social Minister during a visit to Kulon Progo Regency. One of them was the Great Commander General Soedirman. Symbolically, the assistance of compassion was received by the heirs of the Commander in Chief, General Soedirman, namely Ir. Teguh Soedirman.

During his visit, Juliari also took the time to make a pilgrimage to the Heroes Cemetery (TMP) in Kulon Progo Regency. A series of pilgrimage ceremonies are held to honor the services of the hero who died fighting for Indonesian independence. Minister of Social Affairs and his entourage pray and sow flowers on the graves in the TMP of Kulon Progo Regency.

Some of the other agendas are the declaration of Disaster Preparedness Villages / Areas, observing the location of Family Development Session (FDS) activities, observing the locations of Joint Business Groups (KUBE), as well as reviewing the distribution of Cash Social Assistance (BST) and the Basic Food Program.

Also attending to accompany Minister of Social Affairs during the visit were the Secretary General of Ministry of Social Affairs, Inspector General, Director General of Social Protection and Security, Director General for the Management of the Poor, Expert Staff to the Minister for Welfare Technology, Technical Team for the Minister for the Management of the Poor, Secretary of Directorate General of Social Empowerment, Director K2KRS, and Head of the Planning Bureau.
