JAKARTA (11 August 2020) - Strengthening the Social Welfare CSR Forum to encourage, coordinate and synergize the implementation of the social responsibility of the Business World in the implementation of social welfare.

The Corporate Social Responsibility Social Welfare Forum (CSR Kesos) with the support of the Directorate of Social Empowerment for Individuals, Families and Community Institutions (PSPKKM) of the Directorate General of Social Empowerment, Ministry of Social Affairs held a National Working Meeting (Rakernas) for 2020 with the theme "Realizing Sustainable Social Welfare Implementation in the New Normal Adaptation Period for Advanced Indonesia ". Rakernas was held at the Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, on 11-12 August 2020.

Representing Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P Batubara, Director General of Social Empowerment Edi Suharto opened the Social Welfare National Coordination Meeting 2020. The Rakernas was held on a hybrid basis, through face-to-face and virtual simultaneously throughout Indonesia, which was attended by 200 participants.

Participants consist of Kesos CSR National Forum, Provincial Social Welfare CSR Forum, Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs, Provincial & Regency / City Social Services, and Companies / Business Entities through Video Conference Zoom and Live Youtube.

The presence of the Social Welfare CSR Forum has its own role in the implementation of social welfare.

"The Social Welfare CSR Forum exists as a forum for information, communication and coordination as well as joint action in the practice of Social Welfare CSR. I hope that this forum can be optimized the role of business entities in organizing social welfare, "explained Edi Suharto.

Director General of Social Empowerment emphasized that the Central and Regional CSR Forum have to be enthusiastic and promote Social Solidarity in the midst of this Pandemic, not only formulating administrative matters, but also having Core Values.

"The point in sustainable development is people, planet and profit, but don't forget about partnerships, we must really strengthen partnerships and this forum must have clear positioning and differentiation," said Edi Suharto.

Secretary General of the National CSR Forum Iyuk Wahyudi said that even with the simple and difficult situation as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, social welfare development must be continued without violating existing boundaries.

"The big task in implementing social welfare does not only rely on the state, it needs the support of the community, including business world, professions, academics, and stakeholders. In this regard, the business world also has several economic, social, and charity development programs which are implemented in their CSR work areas,” explained Iyuk Wahyudi.

Furthermore, the participants of the Social Welfare CSR Forum Rakernas conducted a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) through a Reflection on the Performance of the National Kesos CSR Forum with speakers namely Secretary General of the National CSR Forum Iyuk Wahyudi, Founder and Executive Director of A + CSR Jalal, Chair of the DKI Jakarta Province Social Welfare CSR Forum, Chair of the CSR Forum Social Welfare of West Java Province and Chairman of the Social Welfare CSR Forum of South Sumatra Province.

National Social Welfare National Meeting of the Social Welfare Forum 2020 aims to produce a national strategic work program for social empowerment for 2020-2021 that is innovative, effective, and adaptive to current conditions. The Social Welfare CSR Forum has a sense of kinship and strong organization, capable of carrying out mandates, encouraging collaboration and optimization initiatives. The Social Welfare CSR Forum with stakeholders related to social problems and potential sources of social welfare that can serve as joint guidelines for overcoming problems and national social inequality. Strengthen communication and coordination between the Social Welfare CSR Forum, Ministry of Social Affairs, Provincial Social Service, and the Regency / City.

Also attending the opening of the Social Welfare FCSR National Coordination Meeting, Head of the Education, Research and Social Counseling Agency, Secretary of the Directorate General of Social Empowerment, Director of Remote Indigenous Community Empowerment, Director of Social Assistance Fund Sources Management, Secretary of the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Social Affairs, and Head of the Ministry of Social Affairs' Public Relations Bureau.
