BULUNGAN (January 24, 2023) - The Ministry of Social Affairs encouraged Beneficiary Families (KPM) of the Family Hope Program (PKH) in Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan Province to graduate (leave PKH participation) in 2023 as the distribution of PKH social assistance is high in 2022.

"At the direction of the Minister, we continue to encourage KPMs who have the potential to graduate this year, to be replaced with participation from our brothers and sisters who are entitled to receive it," said the Acting Director of Social Security, Ministry of Social Affairs, Faisal, during the 2023 PKH Consolidation in Bulungan Regency, Monday (23/1).

The distribution of PKH social assistance in 2022 in Bulungan Regency will reach 99.71%. "In Bulungan Regency, the PKH social assistance distributed amounted to IDR9,452,650,000, with a distribution performance of 99.71%," said Faisal.

Meanwhile, in North Kalimantan Province, the distribution of PKH social assistance has reached 99%. "In North Kalimantan Province, the PKH social assistance that has been distributed is worth IDR54,307,250,000, with distribution performance reaching 99%," he continued.

For this reason, said Faisal, the presence of 50 PKH KPMs with business potential, during the 2023 PKH consolidation in Bulungan Regency, is important.

"Hopefully, their presence can encourage efforts to graduate PKH participants by continuing to provide guidance in business development to increase income," he said.

At the same time, efforts to encourage KPM PKH in Bulungan Regency for graduation received support from a member of Commission VI DPR RI Deddy Yevri Hanteru Sitorus, who was also present at the 2023 PKH Consolidation in Bulungan, Monday (23/1).

Deddy stated that he supports the steps by the Ministry of Social Affairs. "We need to fully support the Ministry of Social Affairs' efforts to graduate aid recipients in Bulungan Regency," said Deddy.

He does not want the Social Office in Bulungan Regency to visit the KPM's house too often. "If (Social Office) still frequently comes (to KPM homes), it means that our area still needs help from its residents. I don't want it to be like that," Deddy said.

According to Deddy, this is a good opportunity to move forward together. He said several capital programs could support KPM's businesses in the future.

"Perhaps it would be difficult if you do it on your own. If you do it together, there is a way out. There is the Mekaar program by national civil capital, providing business capital in groups," he said.

Therefore, Deddy continued, Bulungan will become a developed region in Indonesia. "So, we all have hope that the beneficiaries don't just be spectators but also start a business, then we (the government) will help with capital for the business," he said again.

Apart from the 50 PKH KPMs, 40 recipients of the ATENSI program were also presented to receive assistance i.e. assistive devices for people with disabilities, support for meeting living needs, entrepreneurship development, and additional nutrition assistance to the beneficiaries. The assistance was distributed through the "Kartini" Integrated Center in Temanggung worth IDR121,575,000.
