JAKARTA (May 19, 2020) - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Firli Bahuri accompanied by the Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari P. Batubara, oversee the distribution of the third phase of social assistance for basic food assistance in DKI Jakarta Province.
Firli explained the purpose of his visit to the North Cipete area, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta with Social Minister Juliari.
"Our only intention is to provide assurance that every citizen who has the right to receive assistance will receive it," said Firli in North Cipete, South Jakarta, Tuesday (19/5).
He wanted to ensure that the distribution of basic food carried out by the Ministry of Social Affairs went well. "Because in principle, the aid must be right on target and effective, as well as received by the beneficiaries," he said.
His party added that the origin of the social assistance recipient data used by the Ministry of Social Affairs was through the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS). This is also often conveyed by the Minister of Social Affairs on various occasions.
"The main guideline for providing social assistance is using DTKS, but if in the field it is found that there are residents who are indeed eligible to receive it, even though the person concerned is not included in the DTKS, then he is included," he explained.
The opposite also applies, he continued, so that all social assistance from the government can reach the right target.
The Social Minister explained that the presence of the Chairperson of KPK was to witness firsthand the process of distributing the third-stage basic food assistance assistance in DKI Jakarta, particularly in this case, the distribution of 1,361 food packages to residents of RW 02, North Cipete Village.
"We invite the Chairman of KPK to jointly look at the conditions in the field, how to distribute the social assistance, we immediately have a dialogue with the recipients," said Social Minister Juliari to the media crew.
Juliari said it was part of the supervision that should be carried out by the competent body/institution.
"I think this is part of our partnership between the government and the KPK, which is also in line with the President's instructions so that we, whose task is to distribute social assistance, ask for assistance to institutions such as KPK and Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP)," he explained.
Furthermore, the Minister of Social Affairs hopes that supervisory bodies/institutions, such as the KPK, will continue to provide assistance to the distribution of basic food assistance which is being massively carried out by the Ministry of Social Affairs.
"We also hope that the KPK will provide assistance and be reminded that if there are signs, there is a potential violation (in the implementation of the basic food assistance)," Juliari asked.
The Ministry of Social Affairs distributed 1.9 million food packages for families affected by COVID-19 in Jabodetabek. The aid will be distributed six times over three months. For the DKI Jakarta area, currently, the social assistance for basic necessities has entered the third phase of distribution.
