BANDUNG REGENCY (September 21, 2024) - The Ministry of Social Affairs team led by the Acting Director of Social Protection for Natural Disaster Victims (PSKBA), Masriani Mansyur is still on standby 24 hours in the field to serve the needs of thousands of Bandung earthquake refugees. "Logistical assistance has been distributed evenly to all evacuation points," said Masriani while leading the direct handover of various logistical assistance to refugees in Bandung Regency, Saturday (September 21, 2024) morning.

Masriani prioritizes providing assistance to the elderly and children because they are much more vulnerable to the impact. "The community has asked for a lot of assistance in the form of mattresses and blankets as well as children's food," said Masriani.

For their daily food needs, the Bandung earthquake refugees still rely on the Ministry of Social Affairs' public kitchen. This public kitchen is capable of supplying a total of 6,000 food packages per day.

According to the Head of the Ministry of Social Affairs' Public Kitchen, Iyan Mul, breakfast and lunch are prepared at 04.00. Next, the food began to be distributed to evacuation points at 08.00. Meanwhile, the afternoon (evening) meal was prepared at 13.00.

In addition to focusing on the emergency response period, the Ministry of Social Affairs is also making disaster mitigation efforts through various programs. According to Masriani, the Ministry of Social Affairs has provided education related to the earthquake to the community through the Disaster Alert Village and Tagana Masuk Sekolah programs.

The PSKBA Directorate of the Ministry of Social Affairs has also built social barns at various points in West Java, including buffer stock at the Ministry of Social Affairs' Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) at the Abiyoso Cimahi Center, the Wyata Guna Bandung Center, and the Center for Social Welfare Education and Training (BBPPKS) Bandung. "In addition to our UPT, buffer stock is also placed in various social services in West Java," said Masriani. (*)
