BANDUNG REGENCY (September 20, 2024) – "Lamun aya gempa, menjaga mastakana (If there is an earthquake, protect your head). Lamun aya gempa, nyumput ka kolong meja. (If there is an earthquake, hide under the table)," said Rehan (11), one of the Bandung earthquake survivors while at the Ministry of Social Affairs' multipurpose tent, Friday (09/20/2024) afternoon.
At that time, Rehan and three other children dared to come forward to lead their friends in singing one of the regional songs from the Sundanese land that sounded familiar to their ears.
In the middle of the hot sun, the children looked enthusiastic. Sitting on a blue tarpaulin, dozens of children seemed enthusiastic about humming the lyrics of the modified Manuk Dadali song, containing material on earthquake disaster mitigation. This activity is one of the Psychosocial Support Services (LDP) activities provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs' social worker team.
According to Roni Faisal, a Social Worker in the Disaster Sector of the Directorate of Social Protection for Natural Disaster Victims (PSKBA), the LDP recreational activities have been carried out since Thursday afternoon.
According to Roni, such activities will be routinely carried out every day to fill the daily activities of the survivors.
The provision of LDP by the Ministry of Social Affairs has provided a comfortable and calm atmosphere for dozens of children who are survivors of the Bandung earthquake. This is intended to restore their psychological stability so that they are better prepared to face emergency situations that may occur again someday. (*)
