JAKARTA (January 21, 2020)
- In front of the leader of the La Tansa Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) and
the students, the Advisor of Dharma Wanita Persatuan Ministry of Social Affairs
Grace P. Batubara admitted that she was amazed. Grace prayed that they would
always be strong and that the post-disaster situation would recover soon.
“You are the future
leaders. I saw that potential. Yes, even though you have experienced floods,
you are still excited. I ask you to continue to be enthusiastic about learning.
Don't let the flood disaster make you lose your enthusiasm. Hopefully the
condition will recover soon, "said Grace.
Together with the leaders
of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan Ministry of Social Affairs, Grace P. Batubara
held a social service at four points in Lebak. At the La Tansa Ponpes, Grace P.
Batubara together with the Dharma Wanita board of the Ministry of Social
Affairs handed over 300 sets of school uniforms for high school students, 500
sets of junior high school uniforms. Grace also witnessed disaster education
activities by the Psychosocial Support Services (LDP) Team.
The second point of visit
was SDN II Banjaririgasi Disaster Emergency. Here, Grace gave 150 sets of
school uniforms for SDN I Banjaririgasi, 300 sets of school uniforms for SMP IV
Lebak Gedong, and children's meals for each school.
At SDN 2 Banjaririgasi
Emergency School, Grades V and VI occupy the Diniyah Al-Hidayah Madrasah
Building and Class II Buluhen Banjaririgasi Village Lebak Gedong. The students
were assigned to Emergency Classrooms after their primary school was damaged by
floods and landslides.
Grace asks the Principal
about the school. It turned out that the school collapsed after being hit by
the flood, and will be renovated. "I’m worried about the disasters you are
facing. Hopefully the situation will recover soon, and you can return to school
normally. Through this assistance, hopefully it will help ease the burden on
the children, " she said.
Then at the third point of
visit, at Darul Mustofa Islamic Boarding School, Grace gave compensation to the
heirs of 5 victims who died, each IDR 15,000,000. She also handed over 100 sets
of junior high school uniforms and 100 sets of high school uniforms.
Grace also conveyed
compensation for the dead victims during a visit to the last point, namely the
Ciuyah Education and Training Command (Dodiklatpur) Evacuation Post.
Compensation is given to 6 heirs, each worth IDR 15,000,000.
As well as compensation,
500 school uniforms were also handed over, Family Hope Program (PKH) Phase 1
distribution, a total of 300 prayer kits (consisting of 100 mukenas, 100
sarongs and 100 prayer mats - assistance from the Ministry of Religion). 222
children's food packages were also distributed. This is where the Ministry of
Social Affairs provides LDP services.
At the Dodiklatpur Ciuyah Evacuation
Post, Grace Batubara mingled with the mothers and children who were waiting for
her in Sudirman Hall.
Her presence was greeted
with interactive songs commanded by the LDP Team. Here Grace entertained the
children by asking five children who were in Grade 5 to come forward to take a
quiz with prizes. The question is about the principles contained in Pancasila.
Not to be outdone, the LDP team also played riddles about animals. The children
seemed amused and happy.
To the media, Grace stated
that the purpose of this social service was to follow up on President Jokowi's
visit some time ago. President Joko Widodo gave directions to related
Ministries / Agencies. So that the state is present in the midst of people who
are affected by disasters.
"The Ministry of
Social Affairs helps with disaster management together with the Ministry of
Education and Culture to provide school uniform assistance for children, and
also the Ministry of Religion with prayer equipment. The business world and
other community members also provide support, " she said.
Director General of Social Protection
and Security Harry Hikmat stated that the total assistance channelled by the
Ministry of Social Affairs through the Social Service of Dharma Wanita was IDR 740,113,224.
The recapitulation of PKH
Phase I in 2020 for Banten Province is IDR 204,306,675,000 (for 274,530
families) and for Lebak Regency Phase I in 2020 is IDR 33,139,575,000 (for
44,657 families).
