MALANG (28 October 2022) - Today, the compensation for the heirs of the 135 victims of Kanjuruhan tragedy, Malang from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, has been completely handed over. This was conveyed by the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini when she handed over compensation symbolically from the President of the Republic of Indonesia to 6 heirs.

On this occasion, the Minister of Social Affairs also handed over compensation from the Ministry of Social Affairs for 1 heir of the death victim worth IDR 15 million, compensation for 7 seriously injured people worth IDR 5 million / person, compensation for 47 minor injuries worth IDR 2.5 million and basic necessities who live in Lowokwaru District, Malang city.

"From the Ministry of Social Affairs, I added one compensation to the heirs. Then I handed over compensation from the President to 6 heirs in Malang City. To this day, all (135 victims) have completed the distribution of compensation to the heirs from President of the Republic of Indonesia," she told the media crew at Lowokwaru District, Malang City (28/10).

Compensation from the President is Rp. 50 million per victim. While handing over the compensation, the Minister of Social Affairs conveyed a message of condolences from the President to the families of the victims. "Mr. President conveys his condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones from this incident," said the Minister of Social Affairs.

It is known that this is the fourth visit by the Minister of Social Affairs to Malang City after the Kanjuruhan Tragedy (1/10) which has so far claimed 135 deaths.

The Minister of Social Affairs handed over the compensation directly to the heirs in Malang Regency, Malang City, Jombang, Pasuruan, Tulungagung and Blitar.

"For outside Malang we also give it directly. I went to Jombang, Pasuruan, Blitar, Tulungagung and directly met the heirs," he said.

Besides giving compensation, the accompaniment still continues. The Minister of Social Affairs said that psychological assistance for the victim's family continues to be done by the Ministry of Social Affairs and regional team.

On the other hand, the Minister of Social Affairs also mobilized her staff to carry out in-depth assessments for the families of the victims. For example, children who become orphans, the Ministry of Social Affairs will try to data their needs to ease the burden on the families left behind.

The Minister of Social Affairs hopes that this incident which is categorized as a social disaster will not be repeated anywhere in the future. The Minister of Social Affairs also emphasized that the distribution of this compensation is part of the main task of the Ministry of Social Affairs.**
