SEMARANG (January 1, 2023) - Responding to the floods in Semarang City which
have occurred since Saturday (31/12), Acting Director General of Social
Protection and Security Robben Rico visited several flood points which were quite
badly affected in the Tlogosari area on Sunday (1/1).
Robben ensured that the assistance met the needs of
the residents of RW 03, which has 11 sub-districts. Assistance with kitchen
equipment and public kitchens, as well as 2 units of rubber boats, were
immediately provided to assist in the process of evacuating residents and
distributing food.
"To meet food needs, we built three public
kitchens in RW 03 Tlogosari, Genuk District, and the courtyard of North
Semarang District which produce 2,000 servings of packaged rice," said
Robben.
The Ministry of Social Affairs, through the
Directorate of Social Protection for Natural Disaster Victims (PSKBA),
synergizes with "Prof. Dr. Soeharso" Integrated Center Surakarta and
"Antasena" Center Magelang sending ready-to-eat food assistance,
needs for women and children, as well as mattresses and blankets which was
immediately received by the Head of Genuksari District, Sunday (1/1).
Robben's visit was well received by Acting Mayor of
Semarang Hevearita G. Rahayu, "Thank you for the assistance provided by
the Ministry of Social Affairs, we can store these items so they can be used if
things happen that are not planned (disaster)," she said.
The
Ministry of Social Affairs was present with Tagana (disaster volunteers) and
Peace Pioneers, from the first day, to help evacuate residents and distribute
food to affected communities in Semarang and its surroundings.
