JAKARTA (12 January 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs contributes to the handling of the Sriwijaya Air SJ 182 plane crash. Since Sunday (10/01), the Ministry of Social Affairs has assigned the Psychosocial Support Services (LDP) team at Terminal 2D Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

“This team is tasked to approach to the families of the victims who are currently experiencing shock, sadness, and confusion. The families of the victims who are anxious and possibly traumatized need psychological treatment,” said Director of Social Protection for Social Disaster Victims (PSKBS) Sunarti, in Jakarta, Tuesday (12/01).

"Currently the Police Hospital Post focuses on assisting the family of the late Okky Bisma, the first identified victim identified," said Sunarti.

The LDP team is a joint team from the Peace Pioneer Team and the LDP Expert Team from the PSKBS Directorate consisting of psychology experts.

"The families of the victims who are experiencing anxious and traumatic conditions are subjected to special treatment by the LDP Expert Team of PSKBS from the Ministry of Social Affairs, "said Sunarti.

Apart from conducting the initial social psychological strengthening therapy for the victim's family, the LDP Team also approach to the victim's family directly to the house as well as helping to find the address of the victim’s family.

"The team also accompany them when they leave for the airport, coordinating between the Central and regional teams, providing information assistance regarding the handling of victims, helping to complete the necessary conditions, recording and confirming victims and families of victims," ​​she said.

In addition, the Ministry of Social Affairs also built a Crisis Center Post consisting of the Peace Pioneer Team and Disaster Preparedness Cadets (Tagana) at several locations for assistance related to the SJ 182 Sriwijaya Air accident.

There are five crisis center posts built by the Ministry of Social Affairs. Namely Soekarno-Hatta Airport Post, JICT 2 Main Post, Kramat Jati Police Hospital, Hotel Mercure Jakarta where the victim's family stayed, also at Soepadio Airport Main Post (Pontianak) and Depati Amir Airport Post located in Pangkal Pinang.

"The Ministry of Social Affairs also built public kitchens at Soepadio Airport in Pontianak City and at Depati Amir Airport, Pangkal Pinang City," he said.

Sriwijaya Air SJ 182 aircraft type 5737-500 route Jakarta - Pontianak took off from Soekarno Hatta Airport at 14.30 WIB with an estimated arrival at Soepadio Airport, Pontianak at 15.15 WIB.

The plane lost contact at 14.55 WIB, Saturday, January 9, 2021, after 15 minutes of taking off from Soekarno Hatta Airport. The number of passengers is 62 people consisting of 40 adult, 7 children, 3 babies, and 12 crew members.

Until the third day of the search, the joint SAR (Search and Rescue) team had collected a number of pieces of evidences suspected of being related to the Sriwijaya Air accident.

The items consist of aircraft debris, cables, broken tires, oil spills, body parts, passenger properties and others.
