PRINGSEWU (January 05, 2022) - Almost two hours of heavy rain in the Pringsewu Regency area in the late afternoon. No exception in the Hamlet I Pekon Sukoharjo III West which caused flooding and several residents' houses were submerged in water. But the cause is not only heavy rain but several drains are clogged with garbage and siltation.

The Pringsewu Regency Disaster Mitigation Task Force and “Satria Biru” Fire Department together with Tagana and elements of the Pekon apparatus immediately went to the location and helped the community members carry out vacuuming and drying in one of the affected residents' houses.

"From the afternoon we monitored progress and when the rain had stopped, we went straight to the field for coordination, handling, and ensuring that there were no casualties," said Agus Purnomo, Coordinator of the Pringsewu Regency BPBD Team.

6 houses were belonging to Mr. Sunoto Mr. Romli, Mbah Kamsiah, Mr. Marsudi, Mr. Purwanto, and Mr. Beni in Hamlet I which were submerged in water and needed assistance with desludging, drying, and cleaning, while the BPBD and Firefighters Team and assisted by Tagana members carried out the handling to help with desludging and after drying, the other Tagana Team carried out house-to-house sweeps to check accompanied by Bayan or the head of the local environment.

"We and Bayan are combing from house to house to ensure that no more houses are submerged and need assistance," said Goesno Budiarto, a member of Tagana in the Sukoharjo region.

It also appears that Gunawan as the Village Head and other Pekon officials provides assistance and encouragement to all the teams involved while inviting residents the next day to work together to clean up drains, clogged drainage, and silting in several places.
