CIANJUR (22 November 2022) - The Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini was directly involved in arranging the logistics distribution for the Cianjur earthquake victims. Risma arrived in Cianjur on Tuesday (22/11) early in the morning and joined the Ministry of Social Affairs teams who were already in the location.

Logistics consisting of tents and personal hygiene kits were supplied at SDN 2 Sukamaju, Munjul Village, Gasol Village, Cugenang District. At these locations, Risma directed her staff to distribute tents and blankets to people sleeping outside.

"We should anticipate aftershocks. Therefore, we are preparing the logistics for residents whose buildings have collapsed. And for the residents' security, we prepared a place for them to rest, specifically tents," she said.

Meanwhile, ready-to-eat food assistance will be distributed in the morning through public kitchens, followed by assistance with toilets and clean water. According to Risma, one of the most urgent residents’ needs is clean water.

"Some are having water problems, some are having toilet problems. (Toilet assistance and clean water) are on their way here. We are trying to prepare water tanks and reservoirs for water," she said.

The Ministry of Social Affairs has sent several teams spread across seven affected sub-districts. Each post was equipped with logistical assistance in the form of tents, personal hygiene kits, children's food, ready-to-eat food, and other assistance. This assistance began to be distributed last night (21/11).

"We have prepared 1,000 of the small tents. We also have installed these large tents in seven sub-districts. There will be reports from each sub-district," said the Minister.

Risma appealed to the public to remain vigilant of aftershocks. "In my opinion, it's better to be outside, especially at night, because at night you'll fall asleep. I'm afraid you won't wake up during an earthquake," she said.
