JAKARTA (January 10th 2020) - Working happily, that is what the Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari P. Batubara, always emphasized to all staff within the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs. This is also what prompted the Inspectorate General to come up with the idea of the Mejong game.

Mejong which stands for oval table is a table tennis game that is played on an unused office table. This Mejong game is quite well known in the Inspectorate General as a means to unwind during breaks or after working hours. Due to the popularity of Mejong, it was finally decided to hold a Mejong Tournament in the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

The tournament, which was attended by all employees, both officials, ASN and PPNPN in the Inspectorate General, took place from January 8th to 10th 2020 and was held in the 7th floor meeting room of the Inspectorate General. Two oval tables have been set up beside the main meeting table for participants to play.

This tournament consists of several categories, namely Men's Singles, Women's Singles, and Men's Doubles. Participants who took part in this tournament totaled 36 people, consisting of 8 girls and 28 boys. Tournaments are decided by knockout. Each game consists of three innings. Participants must win two innings to win one match.

The Inspectorate for Social Protection and Security won first place in all categories. The Men's Singles category was won by the Inspector for Social Protection and Security, Afrizon Tanjung. The Women's Singles category was won by Apriyani Eka and the Men's Doubles category was won by the pair Hernowo and Widi Yudha.

The tournament, which was opened by the Secretary of the Inspectorate General, Toto Restuanto Sembodo, was lively. The employees of the Inspectorate General participated in enlivening the tournament by being supporters. Many employees join in to support their colleagues when working hours are over or during breaks.

In addition to building a sense of joy while working, this tournament also aims to strengthen the relationship between the Secretariat of the Inspectorate General and each Inspectorate of Fields under the auspices of the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Social Affairs.
