The central government's assistance through the Ministry of Social Affairs in the form of multipurpose tents and family tents, including its supporting facilities, was greatly benefited by the relocation of Aholeang and Rui Hamlets in refugee locations in Malunda District, Majene Regency, after the 2021 West Sulawesi earthquake.
Refugees still exist today because the Permanent Residential (Huntap)/house program for residents of the two hamlets is still under construction. In the middle of the Huntap development process, the Ministry of Social Affairs attempted to provide assistance to 150 families or 604 people from the two hamlets.
According to the Head of Mekkatta Village, Muhammad Haeruddin, the central government's assistance is very helpful for relocating people in the refugee camps.
For this reason, he and the relocation residents of Dusun Aholeang and Rui expressed their gratitude to President Joko Widodo for all the assistance and attention that had been given so that they felt the presence of the state in their midst.
