2024 Heroes' Day Commemoration in Jakarta Bay Waters
JAKARTA (November 10, 2024) - Vice Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono attended the Flower-Spreading Ceremony at Sea to commemorate Heroes' Day 2024. The Flower-Spreading Ceremony was held on the KRI Semarang - 594 in the waters of Jakarta Bay on Sunday (10/11/2024).
Commemorating Heroes' Day 2024 on the KRI Semarang - 594, Vice Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo conveyed his message to continue the ideals of the heroes in realizing an independent Indonesia.
The Flower-Spreading Ceremony was carried out solemnly led by the Chairman of the MPR RI Ahmad Muzani as the ceremony inspector. As a civil servant, Ahmad said that there are many things that can be implemented as a manifestation of heroic values today.
The commemoration of the 79th Heroes' Day carries the theme "Imitate Your Heroes, Love Your Country". This theme reflects a strong national spirit, a call to unite, maintain national identity, and strengthen love for the homeland.
The peak ceremony of the Heroes' Day commemoration was held simultaneously at KRI Semarang - 594 and the Main National Heroes' Cemetery (TMPNU) Kalibata. The Flower Scattering at Sea was carried out to commemorate the services of the heroes and to inspire the next generation to appreciate the struggles of previous heroes.
The series of commemorations of Heroes' Day 2024 were also filled with various activities including a friendly gathering at the TMPNU Kalibata Convention Building and an interactive dialogue with vocational high school students in the National Library auditorium as an effort to instill heroic values. Both activities were also attended by the Minister of Social Affairs Syaifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul).
