48 Persons with Disabilities and 40 Elderly Persons Got ATENSI Assistance from Bahagia Center in Medan in Karo Regency

KABANJAHE (9 March 2023) – The joy and personal were seen on the faces of persons with disabilities and elderly persons who got ATENSI assistance of wheelchairs and nutrition.

Jeri, one of the recipients of electric wheelchair, finally can move freely without needing other people’s help. 

“I feel so enthusiastic to live this live. Thank you, Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) for the assistance. I’m so happy and grateful. Now, I will be able to do activities by using the electric wheelchair,” Jeri said. 

Karo Regent, Cory, expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Social Affairs through Bahagia Center in Medan that has participated in the event of Karo 78^th Anniversary by distributing ATENSI assistance and sharing it with persons with disabilities and elderly. Cory also stated that the synergy in handling persons with disabilities was needed, so that they could live independently and be empowered.

On the same day, ATENSI assistance was also distributed to the persons with disabilities by Alfa Omega Foundation of Batak Karo Protestant Church (GBKP) Kabanjahe. 

Pastor Monalisa who was the leader of the foundation expressed her gratitude to the Minister of Social Affairs through Bahagia Center in Medan. In the future, she hoped that there would be a synergy in implementing activities which could build persons with disabilities’ independence and improve the competence and access, whether it was done by training or ATENSI entrepreneurship. 

On Karo 78^th Anniversary, Bahagia Center distributed ATENSI assistance of 60 nutritional packages for 40 elderly persons and 20 persons with disabilities. Other than that, there were additional aids of standard wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs, and kids’ wheelchairs for persons with disabilities in need. Meanwhile, Alpha Omega Foundation also distributed 28 packages of basic food, nutrition, and hygiene kits to the persons with disabilities.
