6-Year-Old Child Persecuted by Stepfather, Bahagia Center Moves Fast
MEDAN (June 23, 2022) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through Bahagia
Center Medan moved quickly to respond to the viral news circulating in the
community regarding ANP (6), a girl who was a victim of abuse by her stepfather
in Sei Rampah District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra.
The violence experienced by ANP on June 20, 2022, around that afternoon resulted in very worrying injuries. Like a lump with
bruises on the forehead just like a blow, and bruises under the left and right
eyes.
In addition, there are also red sores that look
very clear, such as pinch marks on the chest and tear marks on the left ear.
It also looks like black pinch marks along the legs
from the thighs to the knees and red sores on the back. The incident
resulted in a fracture in his left hand.
Residents claimed to often hear the sound of
ANP crying from inside the house. "We often hear her cry like the sound of
being beaten, but as long as the child is asked, she never wants to say that she
was beaten by her stepfather," said S, who is a neighbor of the victim.
It is known that both of ANP's biological parents
divorced in 2020, and her biological mother remarried in the same year to a
man she loved. Meanwhile, ANP's biological father died in May 2022 due to
diabetes.
Bahagia Center Medan is here for ANP by providing
ATENSI in the form of nutrition accompanied by additional food. In addition,
the team also carried out initial assessments and provided reinforcement and
motivation to victims and their families.
"God willing, MoSA is ready to facilitate the
needs of victims during the treatment of their physical and mental
health," said Raharjo as Head of Administration for Bahagia Center Medan
to the family.
