A Hero in the Eyes of Papuan Children
MAKASSAR (10 November 2019) - "Awakened and able to live independently", that's what Hero means to Petrus (30), a man from Kaimana Regency and Arobi (25), a man from Fakfak Regency, respectively from West Papua Province. Both of them are currently participating in the Advanced Social Rehabilitation program at the “Wirajaya” Makassar Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Physical Disabilities (BRSPDF).
During the commemoration of the 74th Heroes' Day 2019 at the "Wirajaya" BRSPDF Ceremony Field, both of them seemed enthusiastic about participating in the ceremony, Sunday (10/11/2019).
Petrus, who was met after the ceremony, revealed that if in his life, he considered his mother (mama) named Dofina to be the real hero, this man who idolized RAKartini considered that the momentum of commemorating Heroes' Day was part of loving Indonesia more and also appreciating the struggles of heroes. nation.
The same thing was also expressed by Arobi, the man who made Soekarno as a hero and idol figure in his life, said that as children of the nation, it is time for us to become heroes for the future of the nation by continuing to work and trying to live independently. Of course Arobi's hopes are closely related to the 74th Heroes Day theme, "I am a Hero of the Present".
In BRSPDF "Wirajaya", both of them became Service Recipients and received Advanced Social Rehabilitation services. Peter currently prefers vocational skills (therapy), furniture (carpentry), while Arobi prefers home industry skills. For both of them, the knowledge and skills that he acquired while at BRSPDF "Wirajaya", will become a guide for living independently in the future.
The implementation of the Heroes' Day Commemoration Ceremony itself was attended by all ASN, Honorary, and Service Recipients within the scope of BRSPDF "Wirajaya", even all officials and ASN from the "Gau Mabaji" Center for Elderly Social Rehabilitation (BRSLU) also joined. Acting as the Ceremony Manager was the Head of BRSPDF "Wirajaya" Syaiful Samad.
