BENGKULU (December 1, 2020) - In order to celebrate International Disability Day 2020 in Bengkulu Province, the "Dharma Guna" Mental Center in collaboration with the Regional Government, Non-Governmental Organizations Observing Persons with Disabilities Bengkulu Province held several activities for Persons with Disabilities in Bengkulu Province .

The next series after the Badminton and Chess tournaments which were held on 26 and 27 November 2020 were coloring competitions and fashion shows. The competition was held at the RRI Bengkulu auditorium.

Abel, one of the Beneficiaries (PM) of the "Dharma Guna" Mental Center in Bengkulu, took part in a fashion show competition for the adult category. 20 participants from 2 categories of children and adults appeared dressed according to the theme "Bengkulu and I"

"I am very happy to participate in competitions like this, I become more confident, and can meet other friends here," said Abel happily.

Abel appeared very confidently on stage in front of the judges and the audience. The traditional Bengkulu traditional clothing worn by Abel is in the form of a black suit decorated with gold embroidery. Then wear trousers that have the same color, namely black. At the bottom it is equipped with songket cloth tied to the waist with a length of up to the knee. Then added a headgear with a pointed shape, and footwear in the form of black shoes.

Other fashion show participants also looked stunning in Bengkulu traditional clothes that were collaborated in a modern way. The participants consisted of 4 types of disabilities, namely Deaf, Intellectual, Mental and Physical.

Even though they have limitations, it doesn't stop them from shining. The participants performed brilliantly swaying on stage without a doubt.

This shows that disability is not a barrier and a limitation for them to show their talents. The competition is carried out while still adhering to health protocols and regulations set by the Region, such as the maximum number of participants in one activity to avoid crowds.
