PANGKEP (11th June 2020) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Elderly Social Rehabilitation Center (BRSLU) "Gau Mabaji" distributed Social Assistance (bansos) in the form of 56 basic food packages for 56 elderly in Pangkajene Islands Regency (Pangkep).
The distribution of basic food assistance is delivered through the Social Welfare Institutions (LKS) Insan Sejati, as one of the LKS-Elderly in Pangkep Regency.
The symbolize of the distribution of social assistance was carried out at the Mattiro Bintang Urban Village Office, Balang Caddi Island, Liukang Tupabbiring Sub-District, Pangkep Regency. The trip to the location is done by ferry boat which takes about 1.5 hours.
The distribution of basic food assistance activities was attended by the Head of Liukang Tupabbiring Sub-District, Head of Social Rehabilitation of Pangkep Regency Social Services, The Village Head Mattiro Sompe, Mattiro Bintang and Mattiro Addae.
In his acknowledgment, Head of Liukang Tupabbiring Sub-district, Wahyudi, expressed his gratitude to the Elderly Hall for the basic food assistance provided.
"I represent the residents of Liukang Tupabbiring to express my gratitude to the Elderly Center who has been willing to cross the sea to provide this assistance," said Wahyudi.
Head of Social Rehabilitation and Services Section, Abdul Malik said that this basic food assistance is a form of government attention, that the state is here for the elderly. The assistance recipients will receive each basic food assistance package worth Rp 300,000 rupiah.
"The details of the basic food assistance package is contain rice, special milk for the elderly, frying oil, instant noodles, sardines, immune-boosting drinks, bath soap, and laundry soap," he added.
The provision of basic food assistance is given to groups that have not been touched by other social assistance, such as the Family Hope Program (PKH), Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT), Cash Social Assistance (BST), and Regular Social Assistance of Social Rehabilitation Program.
Dg.Sannang (80 yo), one of an elderly recipient of the assistance who works as a fisherman said this assistance really helped him.
"I am very grateful to the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and the Gau Mabaji Elderly Hall for providing this assistance when the needs for basic necessities at home are not fulfilled because there are not many catches of fish," said Dg. Sannang (80 yo).
The distribution of basic necessities social assistance in Pangkep Regency is evidence of equal distribution of social assistance to areas that are difficult to reach.
