JAMBI (October 19th, 2019) - Head of "Alyatama" Rehabilitation Center for Children who Needs Special Protection (BRSAMPK) Jambi opened a child-friendly emergency shelter located in the Hall of the rehabilitation center. The shelter is open 24 hours for children in a haze disaster emergency situation due to forest and land fires in the area around the hall until the air quality improves.
The haze returning to Jambi causes poor air quality for children's health. On holidays, children usually play outside the home, but due to the unhealthy air, children are not allowed to often do outdoor activities.
As many as 80 children entered the shelter today. Children are given information by social workers and social educator of "Alyatama" BRSAMPK Jambi regarding things to do when the smoke disaster strikes, one of which is by wearing a mask when going out of the house and doing lots of games with children such as hulahoop relay and Pingpong relay with spoon.
The purpose of opening a shelter in "Alyatama" BRSAMPK Jambi is to restore the happiness and joy of children affected by the disaster in a friendly environment protected from dust, smoke and fog.
