BOGOR (4 June 2020) - "Ciungwanara" Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Intellectual Disabilities (BRSPDI) Bogor handed over basic food assistance directly to 24 people with intellectual disabilities affected by COVID-19 in the Ciampea District Hall, Bogor Regency, by implementing physical distancing. This activity is one of a series of social assistance distribution activities for 608 people with intellectual disabilities and communities affected by COVID-19 in the Bogor, Depok, Karawang, Cimahi, and West Bandung areas. Not only maintaining a distance of 1 meter, to ensure safety in the midst of this pandemic, the recipients of assistance are also required to use masks and hand sanitizers.

Head of "Ciungwanara" BRSPDI Bogor, Esa Sumantri said that there is a procedure for distributing social assistance. “As an extension of the Ministry of Social Affairs, BRSPDI Ciungwanara is ready to help the community, especially people with disabilities. However, the provision of basic food assistance must pay attention to physical distancing to stop the spread of the Corona virus," said Esa in his speech.

The secretary of the Ciampea sub-district, Prihatna Arif Santosa, also accompanied the process of distributing this assistance. "Alhamdulillah, thank you for the attention of the Ministry of Social Affairs. Ciampea is considered as a red zone because there are several residents who have contracted the virus and died. So we must be vigilant and maintain health because Corona is an invisible enemy," Prihatna urged.

The same thing was conveyed by representatives of the Ciampea Police and Koramil who also appreciated the distribution of assistance for people with intellectual disabilities. "People with disabilities are often neglected. This is the first time there is assistance for people with disabilities in our area," said Bhabinkamtibmas of Bojong Rangkas Village, Aipda Dadan Abdullah.
