BEKASI (November 10, 2020) - "Budhi Dharma" Center in Bekasi, which is the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs, sent the Outreach Team (TRC) to respond to cases of neglected elderly people in the Harvest City area, Cikarageman Village, Setu District, Bekasi Regency.

This activity was a response to a report from one of the social communities, namely the SJAB (Sedekah Jumat Al Barkah) community, which reported that there was an abandoned elderly who previously lived alone in a small hut next to the goat shed.

When visited by the team, the elderly with the initials Mrs. M (89) was already in and temporarily living in a halfway house belonging to the SJAB community in a healthy condition, then the elderly were brought by the team to the Center to get advanced Social Rehabilitation.

Yuniar, who is the head of the SJAB community, thanked the Ministry of Social Affairs for providing a quick response to neglected elderly people so that they could get better services according to their needs.

Juliari P. Batubara (Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs) in his speech for Heroes' Day 2020 stated "Let's show our contribution to the nation and state by being today's heroes who have empathy to help others respect and respect one another".

The message is expected to motivate the entire community to be more sensitive and work together in helping others and empathize with the elderly around, so that Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) can be carried out comprehensively through a Family, Community and Residential based approach.
