ATENSI through Art Therapy for "Wyata Guna" Service Recipients in Bandung
BANDUNG (November 20, 2020) - "Wyata Guna" Center in Bandung carries out Art Therapy activities by providing skills to Social Welfare Service Recipients (PPKS) who live in the hall. Art Therapy is given in the context of implementing Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) through therapeutic activities.
Section Head of Social Rehabilitation Services, Iis Lisnawati, in the opening ceremony said that Art Therapy is expected to produce something productive and beneficial for PPKS after returning to the family.
Activities that aim to provide knowledge and skills to PPKS in order to produce something positive and productive after receiving social rehabilitation services at the hall. Art Therapy is provided in the form of skills in making mats from cloth, making mosaics from dried leaves, beautiful knitting crafts, and Balinese tablecloths. The activity was attended by 20 PPKS social rehabilitation participants who live in the Center and 4 practicum students at Langlangbuana University, Bandung.
Skills materials were provided by the Social Work Team and the Social Rehabilitation Team of "Wyata Guna" Center in Bandung.
The social worker coordinator, Rohmah Noviani, before practicing skills gave directions that Art Therapy, apart from producing productive goods, could also train PPKS cognitive and psychomotor abilities. The combination of art, skills and psychomotor aspects will provide very good benefits for PPKS.
Suryaman, as an instructor of mat-making skills, motivates PPKS that this skill can be successful with seriousness and perseverance. There have been many people who have been trained in the hall who are successful and productive after gaining skills.
Asep Solihin, as a social worker said that it takes courage and confidence to start learning skills in the form of Art Therapy, as well as directing participants to choose the skills that are followed according to their interests.
PPKS chooses Art Therapy according to their interests, and is divided into groups according to their choice of Art Therapy. A total of 5 participants chose Balinese tablecloth and beautiful knitting skills, 5 participants participated in mosaic skills, and 10 participants participated in mat making skills.
The enthusiasm of PPKS in participating in this activity is hoped to be able to produce a variety of beautiful works, selling value, and provide benefits for their independence.
