JAKARTA (December 15, 2020) – Ending the Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) service for Beneficiaries (PM), "Melati" Center in Jakarta as one of the Technical Service Units (UPT) of the Ministry of Social Affairs held a Reunification (Graduation) activity for 38 PMs Batch II Year 2020 at Hall of "Melati" Center in Jakarta.
The Director of Social Rehabilitation for Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Affairs, Eva Rachmi Kasim, attended and officially opened the PM's graduation procession accompanied by the Head of Center and Section Head of Social Rehabilitation Services at "Melati" Center in Jakarta.
Eva expressed her appreciation to all parties who have collaborated in an effort to complete the ATENSI service agenda at "Melati" Center in Jakarta. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic situation, "Melati" Center has succeeded in achieving its service target with the support of the Provincial and Regency/City Social Offices, Social Welfare Institutions (LKS) for people with sensory deafness and speech disabilities and especially PM's family.
“Graduation is not the end of the struggle. Children will start the real struggle after returning to society. Families have an important role to always provide support and ensure their growth and development runs optimally. The independence social assistance provided at the end of the ATENSI service period must be put to good use to improve the welfare of people with sensory-deaf-speech disabilities who are PM of "Melati" Center. We believe that the family will be able to oversee the children's struggles after graduating from "Melati" Center," Eva said in her speech.
Eva also explained that the Ministry of Social Affairs organizes ATENSI for persons with sensory deaf-speech disabilities using a family, community, and/or residential-based approach in a dynamic, integrative and complementary manner through activities to support the fulfillment of a decent life, social care/childcare, family support, therapy. social psychology, skills and entrepreneurship training, providing social assistance and accessibility support.
“We hope that the work partners of the Center (Social Office and LKS) will continue to provide services for persons with hearing loss and sensory disabilities in the regions and provide education to families to maximize all the potential of persons with disabilities. In the future, the handling of problems with persons with disabilities will be more focused through family and community approaches. The partnership that has been built so far is very meaningful in an effort to provide professional services in respecting, protecting and fulfilling the rights of persons with disabilities,” said Eva.

Based on the results of the evaluation of ATENSI services, 38 PMs passed with satisfactory results and were entitled to a graduation certificate and competency certificate according to the type of skill they participated in at the Center.
Furthermore, PMs are allowed to be directly brought home by their families except for 10 PMs who passed the Alfamidi recruitment and are still undergoing online training at the Center until Friday, December 18, 2020.
