BLBI "Abiyoso" Distributes Social Assistance for Persons with Disabilities

CIMAHI (22 May 2020) - Balai Literasi Braille Indonesia (BLBI) “Abiyoso” distribute social assistance funds to communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The distribution of social assistance funds is a form of follow-up to the direction of the Indonesian Minister of Social Divisions, Juliari Batubara regarding immediate handling of vulnerable or marginalized communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The source of this social assistance fund comes from the realization of the BLBI refocusing budget “Abiyoso" Cimahi.

Social assistance funds was distributed in the form of basic foodstuffs with a total of 700 packages of Rp. 300,000 per package which were distributed in Cimahi City, Bandung City, Bandung Regency and parts of West Bandung Regency. The target recipients of social assistance funds are people with visual sensory disabilities and other people with disabilities as well as families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic who have not received assistance either from the central, provincial or city / regency. This social assistance funds distribution activity is coordinated with companions for Persons with Disabilities from the Cimahi City Social Service, representatives of the Ikatan Tuna Netra Muslim Indonesia (ITM I), Cimahi City Social Service, Bandung City Social Service and Reader Abiyoso.

This basic food distribution mechanism is carried out in various ways, namely distributed from house to house and also distributed through foundations, including the Ikatan Tuna Netra Muslim Indonesia (ITMI) West Java in the City of Cimahi, and the Persatuan Tuna Netra Indonesia (PERTUNI) West Java in the City of Bandung. , as well as the Cimahi City Foundation Titian Bangsa. The symbolic distribution of social assistance funds is carried out at the Balai Literasi Braille Indonesia (BLBI) "Abiyoso" by the head of the Balai, Isep Sepriyan, to foundations or beneficiaries. The distribution of this basic food is carried out in 2 stages, namely the first stage on May 22 to May 23 and the second stage on May 27 to 28, 2020.

In the first phase today, Friday, May 22, 2020, it was attended by the Head of Social Devisions for the Cimahi City Social Service, the Head of RW 05 Leuwigajah Village, the Cimahi Selatan Sub-District, Cimahi City Disability Assistance, and Cimahi City ITMI Chair. The total foodstuffs distributed were 130 basic food packages. The distribution of these basic necessities is confirmed to be right on target and received directly by the beneficiaries. The series of activities for distributing social assistance, of course, still pay attention to health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
