GORONTALO (July 22, 2020) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Directorate of Child Social Rehabilitation and UNICEF Indonesia distributed Recreational Kits packages to Child Welfare Institutions (LKSAs), spread throughout Indonesia in order to reduce children's stressdue to changing in habit caused by COVID-19.
The Social Rehabilitation Service Program for Problematic Children is a stage of planning activities to restore physical, mental, psychological and social health so that they can return to their normal functions in social life.
UNICEF handed over 800 packages of Recreational Kits worth IDR 1.72 billion which will be distributed by the Center under the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation to LKSA Partners spread throughout Indonesia, the aim is that children affected by COVID-19 have high resilience to face stress due to the pandemic.
The Toddopuli Social Rehabilitation Center for Children Requires Special Protection (BRSAMPK) in Makassar as one of the Technical Implementation Units (UPT) of the Ministry of Social Affairs distributes Recreational Kits to 3 LKSAs with a total of 5 Recreational Kits to Gorontalo Province which is one of its working areas.
Accompanied by the Head of the Social Rehabilitation Division, the Head of the Child Social Rehabilitation Section of the Social Service and the Supervisor of Social Work Service Unit Gorontalo Province, officers from the Makassar Children's Center "Toddopuli" gave 5 packages of Recreational Kits to 3 LKSAs in Gorontalo, namely TPA Jabal Rahmah, Al Wataniah and Semut - Semut.
Head of the Social Rehabilitation Division of the Gorontalo Provincial Social Service Didie Wahyudi in his speech thanked UNICEF through the Ministry of Social Affairs for giving attention and assistance to children in Gorontalo Province.
"In the current pandemic, children are more directed to stay at home, with this assistance, it is hoped that children will not feel bored at home or in their LKSA, they can take advantage of the packages assistance for playing, learning and socializing," said Didie.
On the same occasion, the Chair of LKSA Jabal Rahmah Maryam Kobi expressed his gratitude to the Makassar "Toddopuli" Children's Center for providing Recreational Kits assistance to LKSA Jabal Rahmah.
"Considering that during this pandemic, many fostered children have temporarily returned to their families and some are still living, it is hoped that this assistance can reduce their boredom while they have to stay at home," said Maryam.
