MEDAN (July 21, 2022) - MoSA through Bahagia Center Medan provides ATENSI to (Social Welfare Service Recipients) PPKS with disabilities with cerebral palsy in Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra.

ATENSI provided by MoSA includes the facilitation of health care for E (18 years old) starting from treatment at Rantauprapat Hospital Labuhanbatu, to treatment at H Adam Malik Hospital in Medan.

E was referred with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy, poor nutrition, and atrophy of the extremities. Before being treated for ten days in Medan, E had received treatment for two days and one night at Rantauprapat.

In addition to facilitating health care, Bahagia Center Medan also assists in the form of nutrition/basic needs and entrepreneurial attention in the form of a fried meatball snack business.

It is hoped that by selling at home, the family can have a source of income that can help meet the daily needs of PPKS.

"Thank you very much, sir, I didn't expect it to be like this," said FY (23 years), the older brother.

Since their mother died in 2016, FY has spent his time taking care of E and his youngest brother S (8 years old) who is still in elementary school. This situation made him unable to find a job even though he had graduated from high school.

Previously, on July 2, 2022, one of the online media reported that there was one underprivileged family in Dua Tebangan Hamlet, Kampung Baru Village, West Bilah District, Labuhanbatu Regency, whose life was very limited. Also, need a helping hand for medical expenses and hope the government can see firsthand their condition.

After an investigation, the resident in question has a domicile address that is different from his residence document. In response to this, MoSA through Bahagia Center acted quickly to respond to problems that occurred in the community.

Although initially there was a refusal from the family to take E to the hospital because they felt desperate.

"If we have surrendered, sir, to the condition of this child, maybe that's the fate that God has given me," said the father (51 years old).

The team present at E’s residence tried to convince the family that the government, both central and local, would try their best to provide services to the community by the mandate of the law.

"Father, don't give up, we as human beings have a duty to try and we are ready to help your family as much as possible," said Iman the Head of Bahagia Center.

In addition to ATENSI program, Bahagia Center also collaborates with the Directorate of Community Empowerment and local governments so that E and the family can be accessed by other government programs.

Currently, E and the family have returned to their homes with new residence documents according to their domicile addresses and have been accessed by BPJS.
