Commemorating HLUN 2022, Integrated Center "Prof. Dr. Soeharso" Surakarta Conducts Blood Donation

SURAKARTA (May 31, 2022) - Still in the series of 26th National Elderly Day Commemoration (HLUN) of 2022 Ministry of Social Affairs RI through the Integrated Center "Prof. Dr. Soeharso” Surakarta conducted blood donation activities in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Surakarta City.

PMI welcomes this activity because this blood donation will increase the availability of blood bags at PMI so that they can be used for those in need. Blood donation is also beneficial for the health of the donor, including reducing the risk of heart disease, cancer, and various other health problems.

Before donating blood, prospective donors can take and sign a registration form, before undergoing a preliminary examination, such as the condition of weight, hemoglobin (HB), blood type, and medical history screening.

The Blood Donation activity was carried out in the Integrated Care and Revalidation Installation (IPR) Room of "Prof. Dr. Soeharso” Integrated Center Surakarta and it was attended by the employees and Social Welfare Service Recipients (PPKS). After prospective donors have conducted a health examination and screening, of the 38 people who registered, 22 people could donate their blood by considering the results of the screening that had been carried out.

For donors who are declared to have passed the health screening, blood collection by PMI officers will immediately be carried out and after that, each donor will receive a signed card that has donated blood.

Blood donation activities in the series of 26th HLUN Commemoration of 2022 carried out by MoSA with the participation of the Integrated Center "Prof. Dr. Soeharso Surakarta, previously it was concentrated in 2 (two) locations, such as Manonjaya District and Sariwangi District in Tasikmalaya Regency.

By the theme of the 26th HLUN Commemoration in 2022, “Healthy Elderly, Strong Indonesia”, the Blood Donation activity was initiated by MoSA through the Integrated Center "Prof. Dr. Soeharso" Surakarta with PMI "Moving Together to Help Others".
