PEKANBARU (February 25, 2021) - The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs through the "Rumbai" Children's Center Pekanbaru received a visit from Commission III of the DPRD of Lima Puluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra Province. This group of 8 people arrived and was greeted directly by the Head of the Center, Ahmad Subarkah and his staff.

This visit was a follow-up to the previous visit, aimed at conducting consultations and sharing information on cases and the social rehabilitation program for Children in Need of Special Protection (AMPK) conducted by "Rumbai" Children's Center.

In his speech, the Head of the Center, Ahmad Subarkah, conveyed the social rehabilitation programs and services carried out by the "Rumbai" Children's Center, especially the 7 component services for Child Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) for 15 clusters of AMPK where this year the child's social rehabilitation process directed to services in the family and community or Child Welfare Institutions (LKSA), while residential services in the Center as the last alternative option.

"The components of ATENSI Children's activities in children's social rehabilitation, whether family-based, community-based, or residential, consist of proper living support, social care and care, family support, therapy, entrepreneurship and vocational training, social assistance and assistance, and accessibility support for AMPK," added Ahmad Subarkah.

Ahmad Subarkah also added, it is hoped that in the future the Lima Puluh Kota DPRD will be able to encourage local governments to provide integrative child services according to their duties and functions in each Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD).

"We hope that there will be regulatory support in the form of a regional regulation related to the integrated handling of children in the Lima Puluh Kota Regency area. Because no matter how the handling of children, especially with a family approach, if it is not supported by the regional work units and regulations, it will be difficult, experiencing obstacles, and less than optimal in service. For example, many children in the area do not have an identity such as a birth certificate. We need coordination and synergy with Disdukcapil for example in helping to fulfill the needs of children's identity rights," continued Ahmad Subarkah.

Chairman of Commission III of Lima Puluh Kota Regency DPRD, Virmadona said that this visit was an effort of the Regency DPRD so that their work steps can be useful for the community in forming and realizing a container for handling AMPK in the Lima Puluh Kota Regency. We are also in the process of establishing a shelter by involving OPD that handle children's problems such as the Social Office, Child Protection Office, and Family Planning Office.

Currently, Lima Puluh Kota Regency is in a transition period of government with the inauguration of a new region. "The transitional change for the Regional Head, which currently hopes that the Regional Head will cooperate in realizing the handling of children's problems, we will also support by bridging the related OPD for the realization of this integrative service. This will be our work plan in the future, if we don't protect and bridge the OPD, it will probably be a little difficult. We try to collect the OPD with the Regent and follow up on this meeting by initiating an MoU with the Rumbai Children's Center as a reference for handling children's problems in the Lima Puluh Kota Regency and for maximum budget allocation," Virmadona added.
