BEKASI (March 3, 2021) - The ATENSI Creation Center belonging to the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs which was inaugurated by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ma'ruf Amin, was visited today by the Leaders and Members of Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives. Commission VIII of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia appreciates the breakthrough of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs in realizing the center for entrepreneurship and vocational development as well as media promotion of the work of beneficiaries in one area with a humanist approach.

The presence of members of Commission VIII of the DPR RI were Diah Pitaloka from the PDIP faction, Inna Amania from the PDIP faction, Maman Imanul Haq from the PKB faction, Arwan M. Aras from the PDIP faction, Deddi from the PKB faction, Nur Azizah from the PKS faction, Nurhasan Zaidi from the PKS faction. and Nurmahmudi from the PKS faction besides wanting to know the ATENSI Creation Center, they also wanted to know how far the Ministry of Social Affairs has taken care of vulnerable and marginalized people.

The Ministry of Social Affairs, said Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, has the responsibility to promote the social welfare of the community, especially the vulnerable and marginalized groups (beneficiaries).

The Ministry of Social Affairs is well aware of the challenges facing the situation amid the COVID-19 pandemic which has been going on for more than a year and it is not certain when it will end.

One of the social impacts that occurs is that many people have lost their homes. "We provide a solution to this problem by making Simple Flat for Rent (Rusunawa) for former scavengers and homeless people, as well as creating job opportunities through the ATENSI Creation Center," said the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini in her speech.

The Minister of Social Affairs said that at the ATENSI Creation Center there is a Culinary Center processed by the beneficiaries of the Pangudi Luhur Training Center Bekasi , a stand for compost products, liquid fertilizer, hydroponic vegetables, chicken eggs and magot (catfish feed) as well as agro-tourism for Porang and Grapes.

In addition, at the ATENSI Creation Center there are also ATENSI Creation Outlets that are beneficiaries of the Cibinong Disability Center, Mulya Jaya Training Center Jakarta, Pangudi Luhur Training Center Bekasi, Tan Miyat Center Bekasi, Budhi Dharma Elderly Center Bekasi, Jakarta Melati Disability Center, Kartini Disability Center Temanggung, and the Kumala Foundation.

Leaders and Members of Commission VIII DPR RI visited the Culinary Center at the ATENSI Creation Center and tasted some of their favorite dishes. Then review the location of the plan for the construction of the Rusunawa for former scavengers and the homeless, which is located right behind the culinary center.

In addition to building the ATENSI Creation Center and Rusunawa, the Ministry of Social Affairs has also carried out activities to fulfill the basic rights of marginalized/abandoned citizens through recording population data (making ID cards) for former scavengers and the homeless. A total of 65 people have recorded their ID cards in collaboration with the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registry, Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Ministry of Social Affairs also distributes ready-to-work ex-scavengers and homeless people through several distribution stages, namely:
- Phase 1 has been distributed by 5 people at the Grand Kamala Lagoon Bekasi company;
- Phase 2 has been distributed as many as 15 people at PT. Waskita Karya Tbk;
- Phase 3 as many as 42 people with details as many as 26 people to PT. Waskita Karya, 5 people to PT. Elang Mahkota Teknologi Tbk, 9 people to PT Otsindo Prima Raya and 1 person to PT Kamadjaja Logistics.

It didn't stop there, the Ministry of Social Affairs also helped make account books and Attention ATM cards for 7 former scavengers and the homeless. To date, 53 people are in the process of creating accounts.

Diah Pitaloka, Deputy Chairperson of Commission VIII DPR RI appreciated the work of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

"This is not only a space for economic empowerment but also a space for the happiness of underprivileged families," he said.

Diah also revealed that this humanist approach was successfully carried out by the Ministry of Social Affairs. "This places humans as a whole. Humans have the power of effort. This is an inspiration for solutions to many social problems," added Diah.

Diah and members of Commission VIII DPR RI expressed their gratitude for being invited to the ATENSI Creation Center. "I'm sure this place will continue to grow. Let's move on, this is our first step towards something even bigger," he concluded.

The Minister of Social Affairs also told the story of one family who had succeeded. "Mr. Riyadi has worked at PT. Waskita Karya and his wife Mrs. Heni already has a business of Pecel Lele and Chicken Pecel. We have tried to get Mr. Riyadi to have an Identity Card (KTP) in collaboration with the Directorate General of Dukcapil, Ministry of Home Affairs. After having an ID card, we opened an ATENSI savings account for him. His first salary was IDR 4.8 million, while his wife had an average income of IDR 3 million/month," explained the Minister of Social Affairs.

In the future, the Ministry of Social Affairs will turn the Pangudi Luhur Training Center and several other centers into a full-service center known as the Social Service Center (SERASI). For example, it could be a consultation about social assistance, it could be a place to stock disaster relief materials such as tents, children's food to ready-to-eat food.

In addition, the Ministry of Social Affairs will also provide hearses to upgrade the polyclinic at the center. The point is integrated social services in which there is social rehabilitation, social empowerment, social protection and security as well as handling the poor. The Ministry of Social Affairs is ready to accept public complaints in a one-stop service.

"Furthermore, our plan is to open a laundry business to a car repair shop," said the Minister of Social Affairs. Since the ATENSI Creation Center was opened, the total turnover was IDR 35 million and the profit is IDR 15 millions. The profits have been divided between each beneficiary who runs a business at the ATENSI Creation Center and saved in the account of each beneficiary.

The visit of the Leaders and Members of Commission VIII DPR RI to the ATENSI Creation Center was also attended by Echelon I Officials of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs, Special Staff of the Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs, Echelon II Officials in the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation, Deputy Mayor of Bekasi and Heads of Social Rehabilitation Centers in Jakarta and Bekasi.
