Concrete Steps of the Ministry of Social Affairs in Flood Disaster Management
JAKARTA (January 14th 2020) - Director General of Social Empowerment Pepen Nazaruddin, along with Echelon I and II Officials of the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia accompanied the Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P Batubara in a Joint Working Meeting with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) related to disaster management as well as strategic issues in the Meeting Room of Commission VIII DPR RI Nusantara Building II Floor 2.
Juliari P. Batubara delivered a presentation on handling the impact of flood disasters, chronology of flood events, recapitulation of disaster impacts, victims who died, emergency response status, recapitulation of flood handling assistance, handling efforts, distribution of public kitchens, distribution of logistical assistance, psychosocial services and strategic issues other.
In this case, the Directorate General of Social Empowerment participates in dealing with flood victims by providing assistance in collaboration with Ministry of Social partners, including the CSR Forum, as well as the involvement of social pillars, including TKSK, PSM and youth organizations to help flood victims at the location.
