Crafting a Coconut Shell Future

Sudiyono, an elderly person with a physical disability, has been receiving assistance from the Antasena Centre in Magelang since 2023. Despite his physical restrictions, his desire to earn a living remained unwavering. Sudiyono began to seek solutions to his challenges by using his skills and strong drive to care for his family.

Sudiyono specializes in crafts made from various processed coconut shells. He is capable of transforming coconut shells into a variety of lovely household furnishings. However, the primary challenge is marketing his work. Sudiyono was involved in the Central Java disabled community, where he gained valuable information that led him to seek government assistance.

The Ministry of Social Affairs, through the Antasena Center, responded to his request by providing assistance in the form of a three-wheeled motorbike to to help sell his handicrafts. With the three-wheeled motorbike, Sudiyono's income has increased after successfully marketing his product.
