JAKARTA (November 28, 2024) - Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) has collaborated with the Ministry of Human Rights (KemenHAM) to strengthen Kemensos programs that are oriented towards Human Rights (HAM). Ministry of Social Affairs is responsible for fulfilling the basic needs of the community, such as clothing, food, and shelter, which are part of fulfilling human rights. Kemensos' programs cover 12 target categories (12 PAS), including neglected children, victims of violence, remote indigenous communities, and other vulnerable groups.

Minister of Human Rights, Natalius Pigai, supports this synergy because 80% of human rights fulfillment policies are in the realm of KemenHAM. This collaboration will focus on preparing a joint work program that supports basic needs fulfillment of vulnerable communities. A technical team meeting between the two ministries will be held to discuss issues related to social welfare and human rights in more depth.
