Development of Social Media as a Means of Socialization and Access to Information

MEDAN (8 November 2019) - Located at a GRATIS Coffee Shop (anti-sTigma and discrimination) belonging to the Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (BRSODH) “Bahagia” in Medan, an In-Office Meeting (RDK) was held regarding the Improvement of the Public Relations Application System (Sihumas).

Through this activity, the socialization of website development was carried out, including Chat Support and Online Registration as well as launching an Online Application via the Playstore. The development of this application aims to facilitate the public in accessing services at BRSODH “Bahagia” Medan, especially in the use of social media.

Sri Wibowo, Head of BRSODH “Bahagia” in Medan who was also a resource person in this activity emphasized the importance of developing Balai information through websites and Web applications. In addition, the Head of Administration Subdivision, Robert Sitorus explained and introduced the Medan “Bahagia” BRSODH social media in the form of Website, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Playstore Service Application.

In the delivery, participants were informed about the development of the website menu, namely online registration and chat support for Social Welfare Services Recipients (PPKS) in this case people living with HIV / AIDS (PLWHA) who need BRSODH “Bahagia” services in Medan.

Present as participants of the Medan City Social Service, Galatea and Medan Plus Foundation LKS / KDS, the Indonesian Workers Imelda Hospital and the Medan Helvetia Health Center. This participant participated in providing suggestions and criticism related to the development of social media, especially the website which in this case was related to the new menu, namely online registration. With regard to online registration, the Balai will continue to maintain the principle of confidentiality of potential beneficiaries who register through this website media.

The hope is that in addition to the development of this public relations application system application, it can help PLWHA and stakeholders in obtaining information related to services and registration as well as a means of introducing BRSODH “Bahagia” in Medan to the public.
