MAJALENGKA (September 28, 2019) - Director General of Social Rehabilitation of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs, Edi Suharto, said that drugs pose a big threat to the younger generation. Based on data from the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) noted that of the 87 million child population in Indonesia, 5.9 million of them became drug addicts.

The government, in this case the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs through the "Galih Pakuan" Drug Abuse Victims Social Rehabilitation Center (BRSKPN), has a responsibility to strengthen the young generation so as to avoid the dangers of drugs. This is done because the younger generation is the nation's next generation who holds the baton of the struggles of the previous heroes.

"This educational activity is to form a task force (brigade) within the school environment that has concern or commitment in preventing the circulation and abuse of cigarettes and drugs in the school environment," Edi said in his remarks at the School of Education activities in the school environment.

This activity took place on September 28, 2019 with 150 participants coming from SMP Negeri 1 Jatiwangi, SMP Negeri 2 Jatiwangi, SMA Negeri 1 Jatiwangi, and SMA PGRI Jatiwangi. Also present at the event was the Head of Majalengka Regency Social Service, Jatiwangi District Sub-District Head, and all the teachers and school assistants.
