BOGOR (5 July 2020) - The Ministry of Social Affairs is coming to greet Bogor residents on the agenda for distributing social assistance in West Java Province. This agenda was carried out for 2 days, 4-5 July 2020, starting at the first point in the Solokan Jeruk District, Bandung. There were 4 locations visited by the Dharma Wanita Association Advisor of the Ministry of Social Affairs Visits Beneficiarieswith her entourage on the agenda.

The Dharma Wanita Association Advisor of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs as well as a member of the OASE for the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, Grace P Batubara, was present at the fourth point of distribution of social assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs, namely the Babakan Pasar Village Office, Central Bogor District, Bogor City.

The distribution of 500 food packages was symbolically received by the Lurah Babakan Pasar Rena Da Frina, in order to ease the burden on Bogor residents in welcoming the new normal due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Grace P Batubara, conveyed that all parties could work together to oversee the assistance from the government so that it was right on target.

"The central government really hopes for its cooperation so that the data on beneficiaries is measurable and on target. Thank you for your cooperation, I hope this basic food can help ease the burden on the residents of Babakan Pasar," said Grace.

The target of this assistance is residents who have not been covered by any social assistance. The rest will be given to the elderly, widows, mosque marbots, Qur’an teachers and cleaning service officers. The Head of Babakan Pasar Village, Rena Da Frina, ensures that there will be no duplicate data on beneficiaries.


"We make sure there is no duplicate recipient data, because we have verified which ones have not and have received assistance," said Rena.

Babakan Pasar Village is one of the economic centers and many residents belong to poor families as a result of being affected by COVID-19. Member of Commission VIII DPR RI, Diah Pitaloka, said that local governments must work together so that the distribution of social assistance is smooth and on target.

"The capacity of local governments in distributing social assistance is an important point in the success of distributing social assistance. There must be cooperation between local and central governments to build synergy," said Diah.

Grace P Batubara, on that occasion visited the residence of the beneficiary. Yayah Rohayah, a housewife, when visited said that it is currently difficult for her child to find work due to COVID-19.

"Before COVID-19, my son was still easy to find work. Now, let alone looking for work, many of those who work have also been laid off," said Yayah.

Haru Daryanto, a hanging pot craftsman who was also visited by Grace Batubara, said that he was greatly helped by the assistance provided.

The Social Welfare Workers of Central Bogor District as social pillars assisted in the distribution of basic food assistance to the homes of Babakan Pasar residents.

Also attending the event were the Director of Heroism, Pioneering, Solidarity and Social Restoration, Technical Staff of the Minister for Social Empowerment, and the Head of Sub-Directorate of Social Welfare Personnel and Youth Organizations.
