PEKANBARU (September 17, 2019) - The Head of the Social Rehabilitation Center for Children Needing Special Protection (BRSAMPK) "Rumbai" in Pekanbaru, Sutiono received a visit from the Director General of Social Protection and Social Security (Linjamsos) of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs, Harry Hikmat, and his entourage, who visited the Smoke Affected Victims Handling Command Post at BRSAMPK "Rumbai "Pekanbaru.

Also present in the group was M. Syafei Nasution, Director of Social Protection for Social Disaster Victims of the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Head of Riau Provincial Social Service, Pekanbaru City Disaster Preparedness Team (Tagana), and Sub-District Head of Rumbai Coastal Riau.

This visit aims to see the current conditions at the Handling Post for Smoke Affected Victims due to forest and land fires (Karhutla) in Riau Province, one of which is located in BRSAMPK "Rumbai" Pekanbaru.

Harry Hikmat said that the air quality in Riau Province was still in danger so it was urged for all people to be careful and always wear a mask when outdoors. He said that his office had coordinated with the Riau Provincial Health Office to prepare and distribute the needs of medical devices such as masks, oxygen, and medicines to all Posts in Riau Province.

In addition to greeting patients affected by ARI and children at the post, Harry Hikmat also handed over assistance in the form of six Air Purifier units to the Head of the BRSAMPK "Rumbai" for air filtering in the room. [Vdy]
